Minimum

Say less, learn more

Accept what you knew before

The veil closed behind your soul

Sometimes being least is your role

Make Your Own Luck

Tuck that rabbit’s foot safely away

Bring forth blessed dice to play

Look for a clover with leaves of four

And never let doom linger more

Make your own luck with treasures you find

That calm your heart, ease your mind

The Moment

This is the moment

Seconds pass, wishes sent

That this goes off without a hitch

No cloud, no rain, no cursing witch

Everyone shows, dreams realized

When the hand so prized

Slips into your own

Clouds part, the sun shone

On this perfect moment

When all see what love meant

For

Working for you to build you up

At last understood, the full cup

Runneth over with more to give

Showing why we choose to live

From touch to touch, kiss to kiss

Hoping we won’t ever miss

These eyes, these lips, these hands

And this heart that understands

But if we agree that love is enough

We will conquer when life grows rough

Against

Why hold out for love when you know

It will only wither and never grow

In a world so cold that love dies

Before the bride even dries her eyes

Yet some say it it will heal your heart

Even though it already tore it apart

So take a stand against love’s lies

And find your hope in your own eyes

Be Better

Be better, choose wiser

Step up to the next riser

No longer content to be runner up

Go for that golden cup

Be the best you, grab those stars

Ignore the pain, accept the scars

Life will let you down if you let it

So if you have a talent, bet it

No one will give you a dime

Simply because you want free time

To be your occupation

So rise up, be a nation

Of those who choose to be more

Earn what you claimed before

Memory

Memories, these fickle things that elude us

As we seek photos that include us

To jingle one more memory free

“Is this true? Was that really me?”

“Did I always stand just so”

“My eyes on him, how did he not know?”

“Proof at last, I made that touchdown”

“I wonder what brought on that frown”

Hair out of place but smile perfect

Let’s make more memories to expect

Funny

How very odd to be called out like this

When never once did we kiss

Yet you claim we loved and dated

Will you need for lies ever be sated.

How very odd to open this door

And find a flaming bag upon the floor

Don’t stamp it out, you won’t be amused

But it might cause snickers to hiding dudes

The passing of one so nefarious

Seems the time for posts curious

That make us laugh as guilt abides

But at some point, truth no longer hides
